2021 Festival Donation Recipients Selected

The 2021 Edmonton International Cat Festival, which takes place online as a virtual, two-day weekend event this May 29 & 30, will be donating 100% of proceeds to three Edmonton area cat rescues:
Little Cats Lost

Little Cats Lost (Trap-Neuter-Return) Society’s mission is to humanely reduce euthanasia and the growth rates of feral cat colonies by preventing their breeding cycles through spay/neuter practices, while educating the public on the merits of a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program in our community.

Second Chance Animal Rescue (SCARS)

Second Chance Animal Rescue (SCARS)  works to promote the humane care and protection of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering. SCARS takes in as many homeless pets as their resources allow. Each one is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped and receives whatever care it needs. SCARS typically has over 200 animals in care and finds loving homes for over 2,000 every year.

Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS)

Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS)  is a grassroots animal welfare organization with a foundation of compassion and kindness, embodied by its hard-working staff, volunteers, foster homes and supporters. Their goal is to help homeless animals in communities across Alberta and provide community support programs to address the root causes of animal overpopulation and homelessness. Their vision is that together we can enact societal change so that someday we may all witness a Compassionate World for All Animals. AARCS is originally based in Calgary, Alberta and has recently opened an Edmonton facility.

All three rescues will be facilitating LIVE KITTEN CAMS during the event!

They will also be purrticipating in a Local Rescues Panel.

Since 2014, the Edmonton International Cat Festival has donated $117,000 to Edmonton area rescues thanks to festival goers and sponsors.
