There are SO MEOWNY CATivities taking place on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the Edmonton International Cat Festival, including plenty of puzzle & game-centric CATivities.

We’ve round up just a few of those competitive CATivities below.

1. Cat Puzzle Competition with Table Top Cafe

COMPETE IN A CAT PUZZLE COMPETITION 🐾 presented with Table Top Cafe. Limited spot available for pre-registration and day-of drop-in.

HOW TO PURRTICIPATE:

Fill out our form to sign up your team (of one up to four people):
All participating teams will be given an identical cat puzzle.
The clock starts at 12 p.m. to begin completing the puzzle!
The first team to complete the cat puzzle gets to pick a new cat puzzle prize of their choice (there’s many to choose from)!
All participating teams get to keep the puzzle competition puzzle.
After first team finishes, everyone else is welcome to stay and finish their puzzle.

Festivalgoers are also invited to watch the puzzlers in action!

PLEASE NOTE: there is limited capacity. Signing up does not confirm your spot.

We will monitor and close the form once all spots are filled. We will then email to confirm your participation prior to May 31.

This CATivity is FREE (included with your festival admission), but limited pre-registration and drop-in spots are available.

Time: Puzzle Competition begins at 12 p.m.

After the competition is over, festivalgoers are invited to stop by the puzzle area and help build additional cat puzzles for fun!

2. GIANT CAT PUZZLE COMPETITION

Are you a puzzle whiz? Complete the Edmonton International Cat Festival Giant Cat Floor Puzzle and you could win a cat-themed prize!

The person or team (of up to 4 people) who solves our giant cat puzzle with the quickest time of the day under 5 minutes wins a prize!

All participants will also be entered into a draw for a prize.

This CATivity is FREE (included with your festival admission), but limited spots are available.

Location: Second Floor, Booth 45 on the Floor Plan, MacEwan Robbins Centre 10910 104 Ave.

Date: Sunday, May 31, 2026

Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

3. CAT BOARD GAME & LEGO CATiVITY LOUNGE

At the Cat Board Game Lounge & LEGO CATivity Zone presented by Let’s P.O.P.! (Pursue Our Passions) you’ll find:

Cat Origami Display + Lessons
- 30 minute origami lessons top of every hour
Cat LEGO Display + Build-Your-Own Cat LEGO
Life-sized cat themed LEGO Slot Machine! Play the machine to get a “payout!”
- 30 minute LEGO Cat Slow Machine demos bottom of every hour
Cat Board Games
- Take a seat in the Cat Board Game Lounge and enjoy a variety of cat board games

ABOUT LET’S P.O.P!

Let’s P.O.P! is a group of like-minded individuals with the mission of offering Edmonton high value fun, artistic, and creative events at low cost. Artistic medium are paints, pencils, paper, plastic models, and toy bricks which they teach event attendees how to use them to express their inner artistic self.

4. MAGICAL KITTIES SAVE THE DAY ROLE PLAYING ADVENTURE

Pre-register to participate in MAGICAL KITTIES SAVE THE DAY: A LIVE ROLE PLAYING CAT ADVENTURE!

ABOUT THE GAME

You are magical kitties. You have humans. The humans have problems. Use your magical powers to solve their problems and save the day!

In this live Role Playing Cat Adventure, you become a magical kitty and help your humans! Magical Kitties is the purr-fect all ages role playing game (RPG) for cat lovers and those curious about table top role playing games (TTRPG). Get ready for some light, quirky, cute, and fierce fun.

Join our very own game master who will guide your journey in this 1.5 hour adventure.

Pre-registration is required (but feel free to drop-in to watch the game unfold or check if any day-of spots are available!)

5. CAT FOOD CAN SORTING COMPETITION

How fast can you sort Weruva Pet Food for a chance to win prizes? Try your hand at the Cat Food Sorting Speed Contest.

The interactive CATivity invites festivalgoers to sort a pile of Weruva canned cat food into different flavour piles as fast as they can in under 5 minutes. We’ll keep track of your time. Fastest time wins a prize pack and participants are all entered to win a cat-themed prize.

This CATivity is FREE (included with your festival admission).

Location: Main Floor, Booth 36 on the Floor Plan, MacEwan Robbins Health Centre 10910 104 Ave.

ABOUT THE CAT FESTIVAL:

The Edmonton International Cat Festival is the biggest event of its kind in Canada, and was the first cat festival in the country when it began in 2014. The Edmonton Cat Festival brings together cat lovers to celebrate cats and cat culture, while raising money and awareness for cat rescues! 100% of proceeds from the festival is donated to rescues and there are A TON of CATivities, cat-themed vendors, and all-things CATS happening on site.

Since 2014, the festival has raised $187,000 for local rescues!

Previously supported rescues include the Edmonton Humane Society, Little Cats Lost, SAFE Team Rescue, Zoe’s Animal Rescue, Community Cats Edmonton, Furget Me Not Animal Rescue, A Pet’s Pantry, Enoch Animal Services & more!

ABOUT THE 2026 EVENT:

The 2026 Cat Festival runs May 2-31 ( a MONTH of cat-themed activities!) with the big festival finale taking place on Sunday, May 31, 2026 in Downtown Edmonton at MacEwan Robbins Health Centre.
