THE OFFICIAL PROCLAMATION READS:
WHEREAS, more than 900.000 Canadians added a new furrv member to their familv over the pandemic – 28.000 licensed cat who’ve kit-napped the hearts of Edmontonians
AND WHEREAS, the purrsonality of cats brought joy, companionship and cuddles to many during clawful times of isolation, and helped them to be feline happy:
AND WHEREAS, since 2014, the Edmonton International Cat Fest has provided a meow-ment to celebrate our beloved feline friends and has fur-tunately raised $126,000 for local rescue organizations helping cats;
AND WHEREAS, the City of Edmonton is committed to supporting our paw-some animal community through programs like shelters, licensing and Barn Buddy:
