Edmonton’s Most Purr-fect Cat Photo Contest is now accepting submissions for the May 30, 2020 festival!
THE COMPETITION IS FIERCE.
THE CONTESTANTS CAN BE CATTY.
AND THE POSES ARE CERTAINLY A-MEOWZING.
Does your cat have what it takes to be crowned Edmonton’s Most Purr-fect Cat?
TO ENTER THIS PHOTO CONTEST:
You must submit photos of your cat in four CAT-egories:
1. Formal
2. Swimsuit
3. Everyday
4. Answer to the question: How would your cat make the world a better place?
(write the answer on a piece of paper, notepad, iPad, etc. and pose your cat with the answer)
EMAIL YOUR PHOTOS TO [email protected] with SUBJECT LINE: 2020 Cat Photo Contest
Please include the following information in your email:
- Your name
- Your cat’s name / age / breed
- Your 4 cat-egory images
Remember you need to submit 4 photos, one in each of the four cat-egories, to enter!
FINALIST PHOTOS WILL BE DISPLAYED ON THE BIG SCREEN AT THE FESTIVAL and a panel of judges will select EDMONTON’S MOST PURR-FECT CAT and two runner-ups.
The winner and runner-ups will receive a-meowzing cat basket/cat-themed prizes!
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT PHOTOS: MONDAY, MAY 18, 2020 @ 11:59 P.M.
SAFETY NOTE: Please be aware of your cat’s comfort while staging or taking your photos. Some cats do not like being dressed up. Avoid putting on costumes that may be too constricting and do not leave costumes on for extended periods of time. Do not put your cat in distress for the sake of this photo contest. If your cat is uncomfortable, please stop.
CREATIVITY NOTE: We encourage you to get creative with your cat photo submissions! View past photo entries to see how others have staged their images. Sometimes the backdrop makes the CAT-egory. Othertimes it’s the outfit. You do not have to be a professional purr-tographer to win, however judges do look for photos that are in focus/not blurry, not too dark. Overall, get creative!
FINALISTS NOTE: We will feature finalist cat photos on the big screen at the Cat Festival on Caturday, May 30, 2020 around 3:30 p.m. (schedule to be confirmed). We encourage you to be there in case you win to easily take home your prize (and see your cat on the big screens!!)
CONTEST NAMING NOTE: This photo contest was formerly called the Mr. & Mrs. Purr-fect Photo Contest! In 2019, we decided to remove the gender titles from the contest! We’re looking for Edmonton’s Most Purr-fect Cat! 🙂
