The Edmonton International Cat Festival is the only and biggest festival of its kind in Alberta, the first festival of its kind in Canada, and one of the largest cat events in the country! The festival brings together cat lovers to celebrate cats and cat culture, while raising money and awareness for important cat rescue organizations!
#YEGCatFest donates 100% of proceeds back to local cat rescues.
Since 2014, we’ve raised $112,000 for local rescues helping cats in need.
Our mission is to put on an a-meowzing event that brings together cat lovers from all over, to celebrate cats, cat culture, and raise money and awareness to support organizations that help cats in need.
The 2020 Edmonton International Cat Festival will feature:
- Adoptable cats / cat rescues
- Presentations about cats on our Main Stage presented by City of Edmonton Animal Care & Control
- A-meowzing cat vendors (shop products for your cat, shop cat-themed products for you!)
- Meet & Greets with our 2020 Celebrity Cat Guest (we’re SO excited to ameownce the guest in the new year!!)
- And MEOWN-Y CATivities (cat-themed activities) including the popular Kitty Play Pen (hop in and play with kittens! It’s your dream come true), Instagrammable cat-themed areas, local roving cats feature, Opposite Cats room, Cat Board Game Lounge, Silent Auction, mock cat show judging + show cats, cat yoga (with yoga instructor Bryanna Chan), Cat Festival scavenger hunt, Paint your Cat Portrait sessions with YAYMaker, cat crafts, Cat ASMR Chill Out Zone, cat photography workshops, a Red Carpet Cat Festival Experience, Cat Costume Contest, Cat Escape Room presented by Escape City and SO MUCH MORE!!! Our planning committee is excited to bring you lots of a-meowzing CATivities for our 2020 event!
