Making a Pawsitive ID with Animal Care and Control

It’s no secret: the biggest focus for the City of Edmonton Animal Care and Control Centre is making sure all pets in Edmonton have an up-to-date pet licence.
Number one — it’s the law.

The City of Edmonton’s Animal Care and Control Bylaw requires every cat and dog over the age of 6 months to be licensed.

Why?

An up-to-date licence is your cat’s fastest way home to you should they find themselves lost or on an unplanned solo adventure and comes with some pretty pawsome features including: a free ride home if your cat or dog is found in the community and a microchip.

Your pet licence also helps other animals in need, with fees supporting animal welfare, providing food, shelter, enrichment and safe harbour for lost and stray animals and those that are victims of cruelty, neglect and abandonment. It also pawsitively supports local animal rescues and low-income spay/neuter programs.

For $23 — less than the cost of four fancy coffees — you get peace of mind and make a difference in the life of your cat and others.
