Each cat festival brings out thousands of attendees! It’s a big celebration of cats, helping cats, for cat people. Check out just a few photos from past year festivals below (note: we took a cat nap in 2017).

2023

Our ‘Cat Fest Week’ in 2023 brought out hundreds of cat lovers to events like Cat Tats (Tattoos), Cat Meet Up in the Park, Cat Pawty, Celebrity Cat Meet & Greet, Cat Yoga, Cat Book Club and Cat Paint Night, and MORE! Our 2023 in-purrson events raised $15,000 for Furget Me Not Animal Rescue!

2022

Our 2022 Virtual Cat Festival raised $4,000 for Community Cats Edmonton and included sessions like How to make Homemade Cat Food, Cat Painting, What do Cats Do Outside (Cat Research), First Aid for Feline Emeowgencies, BIG Cats of the San Diego Zoo, and MORE!

2021

Our 2021 VIRTUAL Cat Festival raised $9,000 for Little Cats Lost, Second Chance Animal Rescue, and Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society and included sessions like Interview with Cat Behaviourist Pam Johnson-Bennett, Cat Storytime, If I Fits I Sits Cat Study, Catios 101, Celebrity Cat White Coffee Cat, Hiking with Great Grams of Gary, Cat Eye Make-up Tutorial and MORE!

2020

During our VIRTUAL 2020 festival, more than 300  cat lovers tuned into our online purr-gramming and we raised $5,000 for Little Cats Lost, Second Chance Animal Rescue, and ARTS Senior Animal Rescue.

2019

During our 2019 festival, nearly 3,000 people came out and we raised $11,000 for Little Cats Lost, Zoe’s Animal Rescue, SAFE Team Rescue, Greater Edmonton Animal Rescue and A Pet’s Pantry! 2018

In 2018, nearly 2,500 people can out for the 4th Edmonton International Cat Festival and we raised $20,000 for the Edmonton Humane Society, Little Cats Lost, and Zoe’s Animal Rescue. We were very lucky to be joined by celebrity cat Nala & White Coffee.

2016

In its 3rd year, nearly 3,000 people came out to the 2016 Edmonton International Cat Festival and we raised $21,000 for the Edmonton Humane Society, Little Cats Lost, and Zoe’s Animal Rescue! We were also joined by the beautiful Nala as our celebrity guest. Photos taken by Nanc Price Photography.

In its 2nd year, 1,500 people came out to the 2015 Edmonton International Cat Festival and we raised $30,000 for the Edmonton Humane Society, Little Cats Lost and SAFE Team Rescue! Land Acknowledgement

The Edmonton International Cat Festival is run by a board of volunteers who live on Treaty 6 Territory and within the Michif / Métis homelands and Métis Nation of Alberta Region 4. As cat-loving settlers who live, work, and play on these lands, it’s important for us to acknowledge this land as the traditional territories of many First Nations such as the Nehiyaw, Dene, Nakota Sioux, Anishinabae and Niitsitapi.
