CALLING ALL EDMONTON CAT LOVERS!

Enter your cat(s) into the 2024 Edmonton’s “Most Purr-fect Cat” Photo Contest presented by the City of Edmonton Animal Care & Control Centre.

Submitted cat photos will be shown on the big screen at the festival and a panel of judges will select three “Most Purr-fect Cats” for prizes.

HOW TO ENTER

Submit 4 photos of your cat to qualify for the contest.

Each photo must represent one of the following 4 CAT-egories:

CAT-EGORY 1:

FORMAL

Submit a photo of your cat in ‘formal’ cat-tire!

CAT-EGORY 2:

SWIMSUIT

Submit a photo of your cat in a ‘swimsuit’

CAT-EGORY 3:

EVERYDAY

Submit a photo of your cat’s ‘everyday’ look!

CAT-EGORY 4:

ANSWER

Have your cat answer the question: “How would your cat make the world a better place?”

Note: the photo submission for ‘Answer to the Question’ should include your cat with an answer to the question ‘ How would you make the world a better place?’ written or represented in the photo itself.

You are welcome to submit multiple cats per household!

SAFETY NOTE: Please be aware of your cat’s comfort while staging or taking your photos. Many cats do not like being dressed up. Avoid putting on costumes that may be too constricting and do not leave costumes on for extended periods of time. Do not put your cat in distress for the sake of this photo contest. If your cat is uncomfortable, please stop.

CREATIVITY NOTE: We encourage you to get creative with your cat photo submissions! View past photo entries to see how others have staged their images. Sometimes the backdrop makes the CAT-egory. Othertimes it’s the outfit. Get creative!

TECHNICAL NOTE: As this is a photo contest, judges will be grading on quality of photo! This does not mean you need to be a professional photographer, it simply means entrants are encouraged to ensure photos are in focus (not blurry), and lit (cat or image isn’t dark/hard to see). If images are too blurry or cats are not visible, your entry may not qualify for the contest.
