This 2023, rather than one big in-person event, we are doing a week of smaller cat-themed activities from May 20-28, 2023.

Meet & Greet with Great Grams of Gary Caturday, May 20, 2023 Homes Alive Pets (West) 17531 Stony Plain Rd. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost: $15 (online in advance – guaranteed spot) or $20 (in person, cash only—day of spots not guaranteed)

On Sunday, May 21, Yogalife Studios will be hosting two limited capacity in-person kitten yoga session in conjunction with Cat Festival, with 100% purr-ceeds from the in-person cat yoga sessions being donated to local rescue Community Cats Edmonton. The classes will feature adoptable kittens from Community Cats Edmonton!
Note: there are TWO class times on this day, 12-1 p.m. or 2:30-3:30 p.m., Sunday, May 21, 2023.
Cost: $25 per person with 100% going to Community Cats Edmonton

Janelle Snow (She/Her) (200-RYT) will be leading the in-person yoga practices for our 2023 Cat Festival Week, with kittens from Community Cats Edmonton! “If you’ve wanted to try yoga and the only difference you know between upward facing dog and downward facing dog is how your own pupper likes to play, don’t even worry about it – this is CATFEST, after all! Join me for some CAT-arunguas, kitten poses and all the other cat puns I can come up with.”

Please note this is a very casual meet-up, no registration required (just show up, look for the cats and Edmonton Cat Fest banner!)
Please be a responsible cat owner! Only bring your cat on a leash, in a backpack, stroller, or other transport where your cat is secure and not roaming freely.
As this meet-up will be outdoors, it will be dependant on clear skies and warm weather. As we are not taking pre-registrations, if turnout is low, please just enjoy an afternoon at the park!

The Common is a staple in Edmonton dining and nightlife. Located downtown, The Common is a gastro-lounge where typical comfort food is elevated to uncommon heights. Set in a lounge style space with a vintage meets modern décor; their aim is to create a community based upon experiencing new food, music and culture in Edmonton. Perfect for happy hour, dinner, corporate functions, an after work drink, or late nights out—and host to many local events!
On Wednesday, May 24 for Cat Fest Week, tune into a unique FREE (pay what you want), virtual Intro to Feline Fitness & Tricks class presented by Sit Stay Squat.
Why should dogs have all the fun? This is an online positive reinforcement based exercise class for your cat!
These exercises and tricks will increase your cat’s muscular strength, core stability, body awareness, flexibility, confidence, and training skills.
This is a follow along Zoom class where Sit Stay Squat will go over how to teach your cat to circle, back up, crawl, and jump over your arm.
These beginner friendly tricks have tons of benefits for your cat’s health and can help to reduce their risk of future injuries. This is a cat training class, so please have some high value treats on hand that you can use for luring your cat to participate in the exercises & tricks. We love using something extra high value such as Churu Lickable Tubes, to keep the cats highly motivated to engage with us!
There is no prior training experience required to participate in this fun, FREE (pay what you want), beginner friendly virtual class.

Sarah Keller, CPCFT CCFT CCBW NASM-CES CPDT-KA, of Sit Stay Squat, specializes in 🐕 Canine Conditioning 🐈⬛ Feline Fitness 🐾 Pet Massage / the study of canine & feline posture and movement, and how corrective exercise strategies along with massage can help to reduce the risk of injuries in our pets. Sit Stay Squat offers online “Feline Fitness” and “Acro Cat” classes, as well as in-person massage services for cats.
